During Your Appointment
Once you arrive and we gather any additional information we need, you will be escorted by one of our dental team to begin your cleaning and checkup. This usually begins with our hygienist, who will take x-rays and begin a thorough exam of your gum health before your cleaning. This will determine the best cleaning method to use for your dental health. Those with gingivitis, or more serious levels of periodontal disease, may require deep cleanings and other treatments. Once the exam is complete, a general cleaning is usually performed before you meet with Dr. Leppo.
Dr. Leppo will complete a comprehensive exam of your teeth and soft tissues. He will also examine your x-rays to determine if there is any decay, cracked teeth or other dental issues present. He will give you a synopsis of your oral health and let you know if he recommends any dental treatments. This is a great time to ask any questions you have about your dental health or specialized treatments such as cosmetic services that you are interested in receiving.
Once your visit with the dentist and hygienist is complete, we can schedule any subsequent appointments you may need for treatment. Our office staff can also discuss your insurance coverage and how best to use your insurance dollars to cover any treatments you need. If you do not have insurance, or need payment options for treatments not covered under your plan, make sure to ask about our financing options.
